Fir Trees
Balsam
Fir trees have medium to short flat needles. They are dark
green on the top but lighter and slightly silver on the bottom.
This tree is pyramidal, and will only reach a maximum height of
about 40-60 feet when fully mature. Balsam Fir trees are slender
but very full and in sun they will hold their shape for most of their
lives. They like wet moist soil and colder climates. They thrive
in zone 3 but will survive in zone 4 in Wisconsin. They will make
a gorgeous addition to your yard or cabin!
Right: Balsam-frasier, mixed seed source!
